In the process, the initial sandstone Corinthian columns were removed and changed with marble. It was not right up until 1984 that landscape designer Russell Page developed a suitable location for them in a large meadow on the U.S. National Arboretum in northeast Washington as being the Nationwide Capitol Columns, exactly where they had been combin
